Power Packed Smoothie

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring with this power packed smoothie. This drink is full of protein, fiber and antioxidants. Drink it for breakfast or snack, right after a workout to re-fuel. Feed it to your kids and they won’t even know it’s healthy and you can feel better about what your feeding your family. Greek yogurt is packed full of protein which helps us feel full longer.   The addition of flax meal adds fiber, protein and omega-3’s which is good for your heart. No need to peel the nectarine or peach the skin adds fiber. I use stevia for added sweetness, it is an all natural sweetener from the stevia plant.  Stevia has no calories and doesn’t raise the blood sugar. Be careful just add a few drops for plenty of sweetness.  Stevia and flax meal can be bought at a local health food store.  In my opinion golden organic flax meal is better because of its mild flavor.

1 cup light vanilla soy milk
1/3 cup Greek plain yogurt
1 1/2 frozen nectarine or peach
4-5 strawberries
3-4 drops of stevia
2 T. flax meal

Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend until pouring consistency. Makes 12 oz.   There you have it, enjoy this healthy treat.

  1. Oooh…I love smoothies. Have been having it twice a day…delicious. I use goat milk instead of soya milk. Your smoothie looks very delicious. It’s really healthy.

    • Wow, goat milk I have never tried it, maybe I’ll buy some and see what it’s like.
