Memories from…Cancun 2010

August 9, 2010

Since we recently took a trip to Cancun, I thought I would share some of the beautiful pictures we took.  Some of you might be wondering how safe we felt traveling to Mexico because of the media reports that have circulated, to be honest we were a bit nervous to go (okay I was).  If it wasn’t for my husbands deep desire to go see the ancient ruins I probably would have chickened out.  Turns out we felt just as safe there as we do here.  The resort we stayed at had plenty of security and was quite private.  Also the resort brought in vender’s for a Mexican fiesta night so if you were hesitant to go shopping off the premises you didn’t have too.

We stayed in a an all inclusive resort which was great, I highly recommend doing this because there is no need to worry about food or activities.  There are plenty free  entertainment and some you can pay for, we chose to snorkel and tour the ruins of Chitzen Iza, the ruins of Tulum, shopping, and Xel-Ha (prounced shell-ha).  We Loved every bit of it all the tours were wonderful, the beach water was the perfect temperature, and the food plentiful and delish.  One of my favorite things we did was jump into a fresh water cenote (sen-ote), it is a large hole in the ground with fresh water fed by underground rivers.  It was breathe taking and fun to jump 15 feet into the cold water.

Some of the wonderful food, of course I focus on the desserts 🙂

Wish this picture was better but my lens got fogged up from the humidity I should have waited a few minutes to take it.  My sister and her husband came with us which was lots of fun.

  1. So fun! That fresh water pool looks amazing. What were the rope vine thingies hanging down?

So glad you guys had a good time! I would have been worried about the safety too, but it sounds like it went great.
